Musical Considerations for a Successful Event
-
Have music complement and enhance the overall atmosphere are you trying to create
-
Maintain some degree of consistency in musical style and group size
-
You can utilize both vocal and instrumental jazz to add some variety
-
Tempo can be important in setting the tone and mood of your event
-
Consider featuring intruments you enjoy (Piano, Sax, etc)
-
In a setting with higher noise levels use songs containing more horns, vibes & ride cymbal in order to have the music remain audible without excessive volume levels
-
Consider using the "built in" sound system of the venue you are holding the event; many halls, clubs, and homes may have very capable built in sound systems.
-
Try to achieve consistent volume levels (normalization) when utilizing digital files through software or MP3 device "settings" as not to have undesirable volume fluctuations throughout the event.
-
Do your best to avoid speaker placement that can adversely impact guests.
All of the above considerations will help enhance your special party or event.
